Description
Two titans of wall—one a stalwart and seasoned staple of the genre, the other a newcomer that has already established herself as a formidable force—unite for a split that, if played loud enough, could shake the very ground we stand on. WJ’s side, humbly labeled “Static Studies Revisited” is the yawning, gargantuan sound of entire civilizations crumbling away, a thick cloud of rock dust and smoke and soot that’s appropriately apocalyptic to match the Dantean visuals; “I Came to a Place Where No Light Shone,” in contrast, is punishingly brash and constricted, raw chaos funneled into a concentrated jet that scorches what’s left of the earth.
